Fun Series

The WSWC Fun Tournament Series has been developed to promote participation in water skiing and wakeboarding by focusing on FUN & PARTICIPATION. Instead of age-based divisions, competition is between skiers and riders of similar abilities. All participants receive a tournament gift and participants who achieve personal best performances receive WSWC Personal Best Certificates. Each PB will be published on the WSWC website, and in other WSWC communication tools.

To facilitate the hosting of a tournament in the Fun Tournament Series, sanction fees, officials requirements and guidelines are kept to a minimum. Tournament hosts are provided with flexible guidelines to follow for the various events, and access to prizes at special costs. Tournament hosts have the option of providing their own participant gifts, or ordering them through WSWC at discounted prices.

The requirements to be part of the Water Ski & Wakeboard Canada Fun Tournament Series are simple:

• Tournament host must be a WSWC member.
• The tournament must be sanctioned by WSWC, at a cost of $20.
• Sanction application must be received by WSWC no later than 7 days prior to the event. If tournament gifts are being ordered through WSWC, application must be received by WSWC no later than 14 days prior to the event.
• Tournaments must have a Safety Coordinator and a Level 1 Boat Driver.
• All participants must receive a tournament gift (e.g. hat, water bottle, pin, etc.).
• Tournament results, complete with participants' full names and mailing addresses, must be sent to Water Ski & Wakeboard Canada immediately following completion of the tournament.
• The participant entry fee should not exceed $20.

Don't forget the SLALOM METER! The Slalom Meter, a device that allows you to hold a slalom competition without a slalom course or any buoys at all. It's a large protractor that fits around the tow-pylon of the boat, and measures the width of the skiers turns. Hold a tournament anywhere.

Click here for the Application for Sanction. If your club wishes to host a Fun Tournament, please complete this form and return it, along with the $20 sanction fee, to Water Ski & Wakeboard Canada. Upon receipt and approval of your sanction application, WSWC will send you a package containing helpful guidelines, forms, merchandise order forms, etc.
